Adhesion to mould: ROSMOULD exhibition celebrates its 10th Jubilee.

The international specialized exhibitions “ROSMOULD: Moulds. Die Moulds. Stamps” and “ROSPLAST: Plastics. Equipment. Items”, which were held on June 23-25 in the Crocus Expo, demonstrated that the negative conditions of foreign policy, economic restrictions and sanctions are unable to stop the dialogue between professionals of the plastics market and unable to affect the partnership between Russian and foreign developers, manufacturers and customers.

“The Year of 2015 – is the time for new alliances and strategic partnerships”, – declared Thomas Rosen, Head of the German trade fair for tool making and additive technologies FORMNEXT, Jerry Han, on behalf of the Korean Plastics Processing Machine Industry Cooperative (KPPMIC), and Professor V.V. Abramov, Vice Chairman of the Association of Russian Plastics Processors. Eminent guests gathered in the Crocus Expo to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of ROSMOULD trade fair, the unique demonstration ground for mould making and 3D industries, having no counterparts in Russia and Eastern Europe, and to congratulate the Organizing Committee with the 10th Jubilee edition of the show.

Long-term partners and exhibitors, who supported ROSMOULD during all the ten years, joined the congratulations, to name a few: EASTEX Technologies, Fodesco, HASCO, Neotronics, LASSO, IMID, MOLD SEVICE, Techosnastka, Polipak, Well known Russian and foreign companies, participants of ROSPLAST trade fair, such as Moretto, GWK, Rapid Granulator, Balitech, Berg, Promplast Equipment, SOLAN-D also wished success to the organizers.

According to figures from the organizing committee, ROSMOULD and ROSPLAST 2015 were attended by 5 918 professionals representing such sectors as; mechanical engineering, metallurgy, the petroleum industry, the food industry, energy development, the medical industry, construction, and 3D technologies. The attendance of a large number of key decision makers within the aforementioned sectors speaks to the high level of negotiations and partnerships formed during the exhibitions. The majority of visitors (within the order of 70%) were chairmen of companies, heads of departments, and small/medium sized business owners. Besides that, the production presented at the trade fairs attracted procurement managers, marketing specialists, engineers, designers and project developers (20%).

A total of 200 companies from Russia, Europe and Asia, as well as representatives of technical universities and leading specialized media, took part in ROSMOULD 2015. It can be pointed out as an important trend that market niches vacated by the more passive players, started to be occupied by Russian and Belarus manufacturers. Among these newcomers were Russian tool makers, such as Master Form, Rodniki-lit, Rikor Electronics, Sverdlovsk Instrument Plant, LOGCOMPANI, and EPK UrFU. Predictably, the Russian participants of both ROSMOULD and ROSPLAST exhibitions made their statements and gained customers’ confidence in those market sectors which had previously been lead by Western companies. Investments by Russian exhibitors were rewarded: guests of the exhibitions showed a keen interest in inland manufacture. The phrase “import phase-out” has almost become an unofficial slogan of the mould industry in 2015.

Lots of new companies from Turkey made their debut appearance at ROSMOULD 2015, including; CH Kalip, Guvenal Kalip, Foga, and Obje Plastik; permanent Turkish participants also represented their latest achievements. Advantages and opportunities of the Russian market were also evaluated by Korean companies, who spoke as a part of a joint pavilion of South Korea, represented by Korean Plastics Processing Machine Industry Cooperative. Joint ROSMOULD and ROSPLAST expositions attracted the attention of a delegation from North Korea whose representatives became special guests of the exhibitions. Taiwanese manufacturers and designers represented by a collective stand of Taiwan also demonstrated a keen interest in the Russian market. A joint pavilion of Taiwan was organized by a new strategic partner of ROSMOULD – informative agency Asia-Pacific Trade News Magazine. Traditionally, an important part of the exhibition was constituted by products of Chinese companies, who have never lost their touch with the Russian market.

Despite the existing foreign policy tension, the exhibition was attended by a significant number of both new and permanent exhibitors from Europe. Among the represented countries were Germany, Sweden, Italy, Portugal, and Poland. To name just a few of the new major participants:  HANPLAST (Poland), Brabender Technologies (Germany), S.C.S. Societa Costruzione Stampi (Italy), and Ralf Gr?bel Werkzeugbau (Germany). Besides that, the latest trends and achievements at ROSMOULD were represented by exhibitors from Middle East countries: Israel and Iran.

The business program of the exhibitions included a series of bright seminars about current issues of molding tool manufacture, 3D modeling, and prototyping. There are some contributions which aroused a big interest among visitors: “Additive technologies nowadays – a new technological wave or another one “bubble”?” by Nikolay Maksimov (Group of Companies “3D technologies”), “Promising methods of mold resistance increasing” by Thomas Fermland (“Oerlikon balzers”) and a report of I.S.Reshetnikov from MES-Center about intradepartmental management and process optimization. Recent developments were showcased by both giants of the 3D and CAD/CAM modeling industries and daring young manufacturers: 3Dconnexion, Heidenhain, CSoft, Russian Industrial Company, Ascon. Among the culminating points of the event was a detailed presentation of the Association of toolmakers AIR.

The organizing committee is assured that ROSMOULD and ROPSPLAST exhibitions, apart from the external conditions, will remain a reliable platform for international cooperation tooling and plastics processing industries. In 2016 ROSMOULD and ROSPLAST will open its doors for the visitors and exhibitors on June 15-17.
